Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Technology is everywhere, even in the classroom. As a teacher of a special program for students with autism, integrating technology in the classroom can be difficult as Chromebooks are not always appropriate for my students. They pull off the keys, they drop the computer, and sometimes simply can't interact with the computer.

I am requesting touch-screen tablets to add to my current classroom supply, so that students can interact with technology in a variety of ways.

As my students can have behaviors that can be destructive, I am also requesting child-proof cases and screen protectors for the new and my current supply of tablets.

Students will use the tablets regularly to access their modified curriculum, which includes reading, math, science, and social studies topics with integrated life skills applications. These tablets will also speed up communications trials so students can receive their own communication-specific device from the district.
