My Project
Teaching students about climate, the environment, and entrepreneurship can be challenging, especially when trying to make complex topics both engaging and relevant. Many students struggle to see how these subjects connect to their daily lives or future goals. However, with the right materials and support, these topics become accessible and even exciting through hands-on, real-world projects. I’m currently exploring a curriculum developed for CTE by a University of Pennsylvania business graduate, and it looks like a powerful supplement to what I am designing. This resource integrates entrepreneurial thinking with sustainability in a way that resonates with young learners and inspires action.
The specific items provided through these Teacher Pay Teachers curriculum—lesson plans, activity guides, case studies, and project templates—will make a meaningful difference in student learning.
One of the units is a great entrepreneurship lesson for students on marketing, branding, and storytelling. These tools offer structured yet flexible ways for students to apply what they’re learning to real-world issues, such as designing eco-friendly products or continuing with our bokashi and vermicomposting projects. My goal is to equip students with the knowledge and confidence to identify problems in their communities and develop innovative, sustainable solutions. Through this approach, they won’t just learn about climate and business—they’ll see themselves as changemakers who can build a better future.
What makes my students special that they are observant, hands-on learners who thrive when they can create, build, and collaborate. This project will allow them to explore real environmental challenges while developing skills in teamwork, problem-solving, and entrepreneurship—skills that will serve them far beyond the classroom. With the support of this curriculum, I believe we can spark lifelong learning and leadership rooted in sustainability.
