Making Students Successful

My students need different hands-on games to learn reading and math skills, such as sight word games as well as addition and subtraction fluency facts.

My Students

I have the best students in the world! They come in happy and willing to learn each day. Most of the students in my classroom face challenges every day, but by the looks on their faces you would never know the struggles they face daily.

My students have many different needs with living in a high poverty rural area; it is hard to make sure the needs of all students are met.

While at school, student engagement is the most important for learning and success in school.

My Project

My idea is to set up an hands-on activities for reading and math in the students. The students need activities to learn their sight words, math facts, and writing activities.

When you can open a child's mind, they can succeed at anything.

The students will be in groups and rotate through stations such as a sight word, station where they will use the sight word games. Fact fluency facts are important in math, they will use the math games such as fishing for subtraction facts to learn facts to 20. The students will gain confidence and be able to succeed with assessments. They will gain important math and reading skills along the way which playing fun games. In math rotations they will be using the fishing for facts addition subtraction game. The place value and addition facts "I can do cans" to learn together independently in groups.

The students won't know they are learning, when you make learning fun and engaging.
