Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach a self-contained Kindergarten class of English Language Learners. Many of my students' native languages are not English and some come to me speaking little or no English at all.
My class loves to hear favorite classic stories over and over. They love to retell the stories and even act them out. As English is not their native language the use of props can help encourage both their love of literature as well as good language skills.
It would be great if we had a set of storytelling puppets that the children could use. The finger puppets would help the children retell some classic stories they already know finger puppet glove would allow the children to act out the stories easily. Also, an apron to place the puppets on would be helpful too. This would help bring their favorite stories to life and would help greatly with their language acquisition skills.
Your help would ensure that my students' language abilities would flourish and their love of reading would be supported in a very positive and creative way! Will you make it possible for their creativity to come to life?
