My students are a wonderful group of young adults who are striving to learn as much as possible each day. They all have hopes and dreams of attending college after graduation. For some, they will be the first in their families to attend college. Each day, we work together using critical thinking and STEM skills to work toward their goals. My students have to overcome obstacles each day, yet they don't let any of them get them off track. My school consists of a diverse population with 75% of our school consisting of students who receive free and reduced-price lunch and military-affiliated families.
My Project
STEM is a huge part of our school's curriculum, especially incorporating more young women into the field. Our Girls in STEM Club is a huge success and helps our future young ladies learn about various aspects of STEM while they are researching and conducting experiments that affect their local communities. Our club is always looking for ways to help it grow and allow our students to dive deeper into their STEM studies. The resources that I am requesting will help make this possible. I am requesting a variety of colored lined paper and erasable highlighters to make sure these young ladies have all the supplies they need to keep doing their investigations.
Being able to color code their various investigations, data, and research makes it easier for them to keep track of their findings, allowing them to stay organized.
These materials will make a huge impact in the young ladies' learning through STEM. These resources will allow the young ladies in our Girls in STEM Club to continue to brainstorm for new ideas that they are interested in researching. Thank you for considering to support our young ladies in STEM through this project.
