This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

One of the best parts of my job is getting students excited about learning and school. This year I really want to make the science and technology link using STEM activities in which the students are the leaders of their learning, and I am just there to facilitate and assist!

My students are growing up in a world that is ever changing and they must be prepared for 21st century jobs that may not even exist today.

Unfortunately, many of my students do not have access to wifi and technology at home, so they are already at a disadvantage, which is why this project is so important.

My Project

In order to best prepare my 4th graders for college and the jobs that await them, infusing technology into the classroom is essential! This project will allow me to use a Project Based Learning approach in the classroom to empower my students to take ownership for their own learning. I plan to use these materials in Maker's Space activities, to teach computer coding, and involve them in STEM and STEAM projects. We will also use them for our school's Annual Science Fair Expo.

This project will make a difference by allowing my students access to technology that will teach them vital college and career readiness skills.

It will also teach them how to persevere through a challenge, collaborate with others, and work as a team. But most importantly, it will ignite in them a love for science and computer technology!
