My Students
My students are creative Kindergarten through 5th grade musicians needing a positive atmosphere for making music together. Growing up in a metro area, my students come from very diverse backgrounds. Being able to make music together, unites children no matter what social, economic, or racial background they may come from. Having a positive space allows my students the ability to be risk-takers and contributors to a creative and engaging classroom.
This funding would allow them a creative space to come together!
My Project
When students come to music class our primary place of learning will be around this carpet. Whether we are will singing, dancing, playing instruments, creating, listening, or working collaboratively, this music carpet will provide the focal point of our positive music making space. The music images on the carpet all provide a visual and hands on learning tool to reach various types of learners as well.
In creating an inviting space, my goal as a teacher is to encourage positive relationships and musical connections that allow students the ability to work together and be united in their love of music and appreciation for one another.
