My Project

Making Space for Student Ceramics: Shelving for Storage & Transport

In my ceramics classroom, my students work hard to bring their creative ideas to life through clay; however, proper storage is a challenge.

Right now, we rely on milk crates stacked and zip-tied together to store their projects in various stages of drying. This setup is unstable, inefficient, and limits the space available for students to safely store their work.

I am requesting sturdy shelving units to provide my students with an organized and reliable storage solution. These shelves will serve multiple purposes:

-Safe Storage: Students will have dedicated space to keep their projects at all stages of drying, reducing the risk of damage.

-Efficient Organization: Clear, structured shelving will help keep our classroom running smoothly, ensuring that students can easily access their work.

-Seamless Transport: The shelves will also be used to move projects safely to and from the kiln, preventing breakage and making the firing process more efficient.

By providing proper shelving, you will help create a classroom environment where students can focus on their creativity without worrying about their work being lost or broken. This simple yet essential addition will have a lasting impact, allowing students to take pride in their pieces from start to finish.
