My Project

My students love to make connections between what they're reading and their real world. As seniors in high school, they especially love when we can take something from the past (such as Shakespeare) and bring it to life in a way they enjoy and understand. This project will allow students to read an exciting text (Scythe) and pull out important themes, such as family, friends, and death, and compare that to Shakespeare's sonnets on similar themes. With graduation right around the corner, it is important to keep these students engaged and interested in discussions and stories in the classroom--this project allows for that to happen.
