Making Sense of Sensory Needs in OT

Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

The amazing sensory tools such as bean bag chair, sensory stones, mats, sensory sand, and wobble cushions that I have selected will allow my students to feel, touch, hear and learn by using all of their senses. My goal is to provide my students with the sensory input and equipment that they need for them to stay focused in their classroom environment and during therapy sessions. I would love to be able to give them more diverse and fun materials to support their goals and development.

I hope to expand my occupational therapy tool bag so that it includes more items to help my kiddos explore their sensory needs so that they are able to regulate their bodies in preparation for learning!
