My Students

We are a relatively new charter school that is working to enrich the lives of our students. This is our 3rd year open and we are on the hunt for hands on resources and opportunities to help our students understand the concepts.

I teach 75 amazing 5th grade students; most of which are from low income families.

We are a Title 1 school but we don't let that stop us from doing hands on projects to aid their learning.

We are looking for ways to get our students involved in their learning so they can take charge of their education.

My Project

The ecosystem kit will help my students see a living ecosystem that is different from the temperate forest that we live in. The portable weather station will help my student track the current weather and predict future weather.

This will help make Science real for my students.

This will allow them to use these tools to explore and dive deeper into our ecosystem and weather units.

Both of these hands on experiences will add to the engagement and standards mastered in our classroom. This can even open up different futures for my students, allowing them to see some Science based jobs in our communities.
