This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come from a very low economic area. Both parents struggle to put food on the table for the family. My students are always ready and willing to learn. My students are happy when they enter the classroom. I teach in a Title I school where all the students receive free lunch.

Our school tries its best to supply us with what we need but unfortunately not everything is purchased for us.

I'm grateful for what we get but it is limited.

My Project

My students are very eager learners. I have them learn through play. The science items I am asking for will help me with that. They will be able to observe items closely with the Magnifier Center.

The children will become young engineers while using the Design and Build Engineering Center.

This play time will give them the opportunity to see what kind of job they would like to pursue in the future.

They can also learn about architecture with the Young Architects Design Blocks. There is such an emphasis on science now that we are limited with what we have. It would be wonderful to add these items to our classroom. I would incorporate these items during group time so that they could explore on their own with some guidance. They could use the STEM Science Station-Sink or Float while using the water tables outside.
