Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come into my classroom every day eager to explore science! They are excited to start a new experiment or learn about a new science concept, and are always looking for connections between what they are learning in class and the world around them.

My students are hardworking and eager to learn.

Most of my students are from Latino backgrounds, and many are new to the country. They are from a low-income area where access to literacy materials are limited. My students value their education as a means to build a strong future for themselves. Despite the barriers they may encounter, they come to school everyday ready to learn and expand their understanding.

My Project

With the requested magazines, my students will be able to see the connections between the learning they are engaged in at school and discoveries taking place in scientific communities around the world. Reading engaging texts will help strengthen the literacy skills of my students, many of whom are English language learners.

Your generosity will aid my students in expanding their knowledge of the world around them while also strengthening their literacy skills.

The engaging information in the magazines will expose my students to many new ideas and possible career paths within the science community. With the donations given to our project we will be closer to creating a classroom of readers who are passionate about science.
