Making School More Meaningful and Enagaging!

Help me give my students more books to read! I also want to give them options for flexible seating which is why I want the colorful stools.

My Students

The kids in my class are 8 and 9 year olds who are hardworking, motivated students. They have been learning Mandarin Chinese since first grade. They are a close knit group of kids who have been together for 3 years, so they almost have sibling like relationships. It is fun to see how they work together and challenge each other to do their best.

They know how to work hard and rise to the occasion of being challenged.

They love to read and are excited about learning new things.

I have been the effects of the pandemic in my classroom. I see more kids who are behind academically. I have also noticed that some of them are more stressed and can probably sense the state of the world.

My Project

My main focus in my classroom is that everyone feels safe and ready to learn. I have noticed there is a need to really focus on social emotional learning and creating a classroom community by holding morning meetings.

A lot of the items I ordered will help me to make sure I am teaching those core values and important character traits I want to help the kids develop.

I also love to have them read books in groups so they can learn and share with their peers. I also think it's very important to have great books to read.
