Making School Memories with Centers and Recess Fun
My students need toys for outside play and a learning cart for center work.
This project expired on June 26, 2018.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
I am a teacher in the Cumberland County school district. My school is based in Fayetteville, North Carolina not far from Fort Bragg which is the second largest military base in the USA. We have a high population of military children in our school.
I have a very energetic group of 7-8 year olds.
They work hard and play harder. From the beginning of the day until lunch they are working. When lunch is over we get to enjoy 30 minutes of recess time. Right now we go to an open field with no playground or equipment.
Right now we play in an open field at school. The children would love a parachute and balls to play with. The kids are mostly military and can use their imagination by pretending to parachute from a helicopter, or use the balls to work on their throwing, catching, kicking skills.
Some children don't get to take advantage of team sports so this will get energy out and help them with teamwork.
These materials would make memories.
The teacher cart would be very beneficial to center time and rotations in ELA. There isn't enough writing space in our classroom.
The kids love to be together and would appreciate any help to donating to the classroom.
