Help me give my students a sense of home with a carpet that will make it a comfortable place for them to learn.

The remarkable students that I work with are eager and willing to learn new things. They have been through so much this year with losing their homes and school to the hurricane.
The dream that I have for them is to always strive to be their best even when the odds are stacked against them.
I want them to be able to think anything is possible if they just believe. I do this by having challenging activities that require them to work together cooperatively, explore new ways of solving a problem, and apply their knowledge through hands-on experiences and personal connections. This helps make learning meaningful and bring joy and excitement to their school day. I want my kids to love learning and to be excited to explore and learn things they once thought were impossible. Thank you for considering helping these resilient students.
My students have been displaced from their school from hurricane Florence since early September. Not only have then been displaced from their school, but most were displaced from their houses. My students deserve a sense of security and warmth when they come to school. We have not been able to get back in our building since the hurricane. Therefore, everything that makes our classroom a home is missing. My students are the most resilient and optimistic kids I have ever met. Through all this, they are still striving to do their best every day.
This carpet will make school a home again and provide my students the comfort and security they deserve when at school.
First graders and a carpet are a must. Carpet time is an essential part of a first graders day. It is a time to come together as a class and get taken away to a magical place through reading a book. It is a time for them to turn and talk about the day's concepts and share their thinking with their peers. In addition, it provides them that safe place to come and share their wonders and dreams with each other. Please consider helping my students get back this essential piece of their learning environment.
