My Project
March Madness is an exciting time for sports fans around the country... but it is even MORE exciting for 5th graders in our classroom!
We have created a March Madness reading project that becomes our students' favorite part of 5th grade year after year!
Students start by selecting an independent reading book that they think has what it takes to win "Book of the Year." This project will allow us to bring a variety of new books to our classroom shelves- including books with diverse characters, a range of genres, and books that are high interest and met the reading levels of all of our learners. Students read their books, and then complete a series of projects to prove that their books are the best~ They go head to head with another book, and the class votes for the book that they would be most interested in reading. As our bracket progresses, students learn about over 20 new books to add to their "To Be Read" pile! Your generous donations will help us add to our students engagement and excitement with a complete room transformation for the month of March!
