Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I start by showing my students I care about them with motivational messages, hugs, and guidance. I love how special my students treat me. I have stacks of letters, creative art, and just because notes that I’ve collected from them. They are highly disappointed when I’m out for the day. We set goals weekly on passing reading test and they try hard to meet them. I have an awesome class that tells me everyday that I’m a good teacher. This helps me to know that I’m doing well with making them feel happy about attending school.

My Project

Students tend to do more when they feel encouraged, motivated, and invited. Becoming a good reader is a great accomplishment for all students. It is the skill that is needed in the learning process. Students need more opportunities to practice reading aloud, reading with a partner, and silent reading. A cozy classroom library will help students get this time to read and encourage them to want to go there to read. Students will rotate the library out throughout the day so that every student will have an opportunity to visit the classroom library. Please help our students complete our classroom library with two triangle bean chairs to sit and enjoy a great book in.
