My Students

As a teacher in the only Title One school in Mililani, I have students that come from families whose parents have two jobs just to make ends meet. Due to this, they are not home a lot with their children and are not as involved in their education. The students at our school have heart to want to learn and this is what motivates me to help them learn everyday. Many students enjoy coming to school because they feel it is a safe place to be with people that care for them. Our school is like a family, which provides just that for all of them.

These students are great examples of students who do not have a lot but would still help or give anyone the shirt off their back.

This is how much heart they have. I love teaching at this school and always strive to do my best to teach them to be self directed and successful learners.

My Project

Our focus for the school year at our school is helping the children to find the love for reading! In doing so, I am making a fun library spot in my classroom. I want it to be a place where the children feel happy and relaxed to pick up a book and start reading! I am slowly buying these chairs so the children can sit around and read in much classroom library. Also, I am in need of these partitions to help the children to focus while doing class work! It’s the little materials in the classroom that make a huge difference!
