This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This is my third year as a 4th grade teacher. My classroom is filled with students from all over the world, many who have recently immigrated just this past year. As you can imagine, along with the culture shock there is the fear of walking into a room where you don't speak the countries most common used language. These students will try their best but many will struggle with phonics and comprehension.

I hope that by bringing literacy games into the classroom, students who are just entering the U.S.

can find a bit of comfort and find the fun in learning something new. I know that with help from DonorsChoose.org, we will be able to provide a classroom that helps our students thrive.
