Making Pottery for Teens: No more Ghosting your Creative Spirit!
Help me give my students a chance to make ceramic art on a potter's wheel!

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are digital natives who often only interact with content via a screen. They are lacking the resources to experience more tactile learning and the ability to create with their bodies not just their fingertips. These kids deserve a chance to throw caution to the wind and make ceramic art!
My Project
This project will set up an outdoor learning space on the school campus where students will be able to sign up to create ceramic artwork and throw pottery on a potter's wheel.
The tactile sensation of throwing pottery on the wheel will be a chance for students to explore their creativity and get their hands dirty in the process of learning a dying art form.
This time of quiet and concentrated creation is exactly what our teens need in this time of turmoil. What better way to support students social-emotional well-being than with three dimensional artwork and ceramics.
