Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The goal of this project is to give students with multiple disabilities access to meet competencies in the Nevada Statewide Social and Emotional Competencies. This project focuses on student self-awareness: Knowing what we are feeling in the moment: having a realistic assessment of our own abilities and a well-grounded sense of self-confidence. Students will develop self-awareness competencies to maintain an accurate and positive self-concept and experience a sense of self-efficacy by increasing independence.

The activities will be adapted for students to independently activate in switch centers.

The switch adapted animals and light panel will be accessible to students and set up in an area where they can easily access and engage in the activities.

My students have significant intellectual and physical disabilities. Many of the students have significant medical needs as well. They require activities that can be adapted using assistive technologies to engage in independently.
