My Students
Without realizing, March 12th was the last time my 7th and 8th grade classes were together as a group. By Mid April students had received laptops, but for me (this is not all teachers) I had lost momentum with my classes.
Every week students receive video links and articles, questions and writing prompts, but there is still something missing.
Students are home, going through the material, answering questions and checking the boxes to complete the work. Some students still get a lot out of the links and the work. Some students are willing to do the work. Some students stay off their emails entirely.
My Project
These books will be going home to the entire 7th grade class, giving students their own copy of a truly incredible black history resource. Students will be given assignments and questions connected to the book, but the book is so great is stands alone.
Students will surely explore the amazing art and passages for themselves.
Still, myself and my co-teacher, Major Dubinsky will be providing prompts and discussion for students to express themselves, to communicate their feelings, and to learn more about about the history that has greatly effected their lives.
