My Project
Help my students develop their musical sensibilities, while strengthening core concepts and skills in mathematics & computer science. We have a few musical instruments in the classroom and my students are drawn to them. I love to provide them with opportunities to try out new tools and instruments. It gives them a chance to explore their interests and maybe discover new ones, and it allows me to see what draws their interest as well.
My students and I are asking for a variety of Teenage Engineering audio controllers that would allow them to sample, sequence, and create music loops and tracks, independent from a computer or tablet.
This allows students to focus on the task at hand while having fun within the constraints of the device with which they are working. These devices can also be chained together so that students can collaborate on their musical tracks by contributing their own loops to a collaborative musical composition. I look forward to having this exercise available when reinforcing socio-emotional learning opportunities.
