Making Music with Orff Instruments

My Project

My students love making music in my classroom. They come from all different backgrounds and situations, but unite through the power of music during class each day. I come from a band background, so I love instruments in the classroom. I try to have instruments in my students' hands almost every class in some form or fashion. Having over 700 students use the same instruments each day has caused some of our instruments to deteriorate in condition. Many of our Orff instruments are missing bars or have structural issues that prevent them from being played to the best of their ability.

Orff instruments are a great tool to help grow musicianship and encourage self expression.

Having access to a quality set of Orff instruments and stands to go with them would open up amazing new possibilities for my students. I would hope to be able to incorporate these instruments more in my lessons and future music programs in the school. There are endless possibilities with these additional instruments which could be a huge catalyst for growth in our school when it comes to the level of musicianship.
