My Project
My students are an awesome bunch of third graders who live in a close knit school community. They come to school every day eager and ready to learn, and they're a bright, kind, wonderful group of kids. It's been a tradition at our school for 3rd graders to learn how to read and play music through the recorder, but due to budgeting reasons we are turning to DonorsChoose this year to keep this beloved musical tradition going!
My students love music and I'd love to foster that by teaching them how to play the recorder, which for some of them will be their first experience with a musical instrument.
I'm asking for colorful recorders that come with a case, which is helpful for bringing recorders to and from school to practice, as well as student music books and binders to keep their music pages neat and organized. It's well known that music is not only a positive outlet for kids to express themselves creatively, but it's been shown to boost academic performance as well.
