Our students are very diverse; made up of many different personalities who all enjoy having fun and learning at the same time.
Our school is a Title I school.
The students who attend are mainly from low-income families. It is also quite large, in fact we are the largest elementary school in our district, housing grades Pre-K through 5th.
We are a great BIG family and all share the same mission, which "is to meet the social, emotional, physical and educational needs of all students, enabling them to become life-long learners and productive members of society."
My students need exciting and fun ways to practice multiplying. The materials requested in this project will give students the opportunity to practice multiplication in whole group, small group, and individual settings.
Students enjoy learning when learning is fun.
Giving them materials such as the multiplication game, multiplication BINGO, the multiplication tower, and the power pen with quiz cards allows them to learn while having fun.
Games are a great way to engage students, especially when they are intimidated by the material. Many students are afraid to take chances with multiplication or feel like they "can't" do it. Being able to show students fun ways to figure out problems and provide them with strategies they can use to make the task of multiplying easier is what this project aims to do.
