My Students
My students are going to be creating their very own media campaign for a product of their own design.
We are located in a rural, high poverty area where approximately 30% of the student population is in Special Education.
Our school is relatively small and because of that I get to know the students very well. They are all eager to learn but because of the economy it can be difficult to get even the most basic of supplies.
My Project
Have you ever wanted to create and market a product, but you didn't know how to go about it? We'll be doing just that in this class.
Students will start with an idea for a product, design that product, create graphics, logos, and eventually create their own 30 second commercial featuring their product.
The project is crosses between the business/marketing and graphic design fields.
Students will learn many things in both of these areas.
Even more importantly, they'll be setting a goal, creating plans to meet that goal and then work toward that end. The feeling of accomplishment and pride that comes after doing a lot of good, hard work will be extremely rewarding.
Because this is a project-based assignment, students will learn by doing which is the best way to reinforce knowledge.
