My Project
Students do not spend enough time on financial literacy lessons. The math focus is always on adding or subtracting or multiplying and dividing so incorporating time and money is important for real life applications.
Learning to count and tell time can be fun, which is important to keep students engaged.
Students like money so giving them magnetic money and flashcards will help how to count money and even make change. I am also looking to provide students with a storage container for our pencils so students have constant access to writing materials. They will be able to get a pencil without interrupting instruction.
Students will be able to use hands up manipulatives to learn. Most children learn better with hands on materials, but it is crucial for many of my students with learning disabilities. Not all students learn best from a worksheet so these items will really make math come to life in my room.
