My students walk into the classroom everyday, a big smile on their faces, eager and ready to learn. They are excited to meet the day's challenges and grow, and I am excited to grow and learn with them. I call my students "my kids", because they aren't just names on a list or kids in my classroom, they become part of my heart.
All of the students in my classroom have unique needs and come from unique backgrounds.
At our school, we recognized and celebrate these differences. We work to ensure that all students can learn in a way that is best for them and meets their individual needs. We ensure staff and students understand the importance to celebrate diversity and learn from others.
I love how my students come to school eager to learn and ready to put their best foot forward. They want to be in school and become the best they can be. They are an inspiration.
My Project
Our classroom has a diverse group of learners, and each learner comes with his/her own needs. I firmly believe in allowing each student to learn at his/her own pace and in their best learning style. I achieve this through the use of stations, technology, and materials that can differentiate math lessons. Through technology, I am able to allow my students to explore math in the technological and digital age. We create relevant projects and learn how mathematicians around the globe are using technology to help complete their jobs.
Having an additional iPad in my classroom will allow me to create engaging, real world connections that will reach each students' personal learning style and push them to reach their full potential.
We currently have three iPads, but this only allows a few students to experience mathematical technology connections. In order for students to truly experience math technology, I need to have one iPad per student at a station. This would allow the students to fully experience the technology and learn from the math connections. Please help me open the doors into real world, differentiated learning for my students through technology.
