Making Models in Life Science

My Project

Our goal in life science is to help students understand the world around them.

In this class, we use a variety of hands-on learning opportunities with petri dishes, modeling clay and art supplies to make learning meaningful.

Models help students describe, test, and predict more abstract phenomena and design systems. Your donation will help 7th-grade life science create models with a variety of craft materials. Creating models gives our diverse learners the chance to explore their thinking and discover abstract concepts in more concrete ways.

Creating models will be an extremely helpful tool to allow students to collaborate and learn together. Students need to work together to come to a consensus before they can add details to their models. As our thinking grows, the models and explanations will change.

Allowing students to create visual representations of their thinking not only helps them process their own reasoning but also allows other students to gain understanding through their explanations.
