Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are amazing! This little group of kindergarteners is so eager to learn. Every day they come to school with a smile on their faces, and a hug in their hearts. Their home lives vary, with a multitude of backgrounds, with so many different life experiences. Our school is directly across the street from the low-income housing apartments. Many of our children come from migrant families. We are a free lunch school. For many of our kiddos, school is their one constant in their lives. I am trying to help give our children the very BEST that a school can offer.
My Project
Every year I take countless pictures of my class and students which go in their memory books at the end of the year. However, having a sprocket printer and paper would allow us to instantly print those pictures for classroom displays, and for future use in their memory books. I believe having a sprocket printer would bring excitement to learning, and pride in their daily efforts. My students will learn that what they do every day matters, that their job is important, and that they are special in every single way. They will gain self esteem and confidence in their very first year of learning, while creating lifelong memories they can take with them when the year ends.
