Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students need books to take them places that they have never been before.

They are children lacking the experiences that most children often grow up having along life's path.

The school is located in a rural setting where museums and park experiences are many miles away. There are few activities for our students to experience locally and field trips are often expensive because of being so far away.

My Project

I feel that having good rich literature in the classroom and being surrounded by others who are experiencing this change will help students thrive and show growth in their reading levels. The I Pad will enable them to experience art, music and listening to books and will enhance the reading in the classroom.

I feel that with the leveled readers, listening library and I Pad students will be given a choice in what they want to learn more about and thus will continue this love for reading.
