This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In kindergarten, students learn to add and subtract. They love to learn new concepts through hands-on centers, which they rotate through each day during math centers. When learning a new concept, students need as much practice as possible.

It is important that we have self-correcting materials, so my students know if they are making mistakes or solving the equations correctly.

These math "pens" help students check their answers on their own, which will result in being able to know when they make a mistake in order to continue to learn and grow. This would create another center that does not need as much adult support, which is important because we typically only have one adult in the classroom during this time.
