Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach in a diverse area, and my hard-working students come to school every day ready to learn. I love my students! They are hard-working, eager learners. They come from diverse backgrounds including various ethnicities and diverse socioeconomic backgrounds. I use whole-brain teaching strategies in my classroom, so my students are constantly engaged in learning and sharing ideas with each other. I want my students to have all of the essentials they need to be able to love life every day.
My Project
In first grade, there are many different math skills that need to be taught. For example, addition and subtraction and place value. All of these hands-on, self centered math games will help my students practice their math skills during center time. I have my students practice their math skills daily. The math towers, the self checking games, and the fishing games all work on math skills that first graders need to master before the end of the year. Having games that are entertaining and engaging are so important! These games will be so fun and a great addition to my classroom for my students!
