This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Returning back to in-person teaching after a year of virtual learning is a tough! My First graders are excited and willing to learn and have all the great experiences of being in the classroom.
My students come from a high-poverty area with very limited resources already, and COVID-19 has added a greater impact.
My Project
These math tools will enhance the learning tools that my students need! We currently are running low on our math supplies since sending home so many items for virtual learning!
The soft foam counters and blocks are quiet, but effective to help students count, sort, group, add and subtract!
The colored linking snap cubes are ideal for learning and modeling number concepts, exploring the squares and cubes of a number, and solving three-dimensional spatial reasoning tasks. All these tools will help us improve investigating patterns, numbers, measurement, area, volume, graphing, and geometry! All very important skills for first graders!
