My Students

Ladies and gentlemen, I am proud to introduce ... the Cool Cats!

Our 2nd grade class is full of kind, loving, and hard-working students, 100% of whom come from financially challenged homes.

We call ourselves the Cool Cats because we are cool and ready for school!

My Project

Leveled readers and small groups make it easy to reach every child in reading ... but what about math? Every child needs the resources in his or her classroom to facilitate guided math groups.

In second grade we introduce some pretty tricky math concepts, and hands-on materials make it possible for all levels and types of learners to master these concepts!

With these math kits and write wipe boards, the children will be able to better visualize math skills such as place value, multiplication, and fractions. They will actually be able to *build* numbers and understand the "why" behind some challenging concepts.

Hands-on materials help make math meaningful and fun!
