My students are very excited to learn! They are learning new things each day and I learn a lot from them, too.
As we adjust to life with Covid-19, we are making the most with what we have and making the necessary adjustments to keep students safe and healthy.
My Project
As I work to meet the needs of each of my students, I have found I need more resources for teaching math, and the students need more ways and different ways to practice the things they are learning. These math resources will allow students to do a variety of activities at their desks, working at their own paces to learn the things they are being taught. Students will use manipulatives to solve math problems, giving them a visual and tactile way to problem solve. We will use manipulatives to analyze important math concepts such as place value, geometric properties, and fractions, and to solve problems with money. Students will also play games to practice telling time and identifying fractions.
Because the students are at different levels in math, especially because of the ongoing the disruptions due to COVID-19, these tools will allow them to learn and practice at their individual levels.
