This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Working with students with special needs requires a lot of modeling and visual support. With this document camera, students will be able to watch and learn from my modeling, show their expertise on their own, and then be able to share their work with their peers!

My students range from 1st grade to 3rd grade.

They are smart, dedicated, innovative and always need some extra love! My school is in the heart of Washington, where students come for support, knowledge and safety! Despite the learning and emotional disabilities they may have, my students are always proving that nothing can stand in their way!

My Project

Working with students with special needs requires a lot of visual support. I would use this document every day to show students the multiple strategies they can apply to any math problem! I would also use this camera to project my students work to the class. Not only will they gain confidence from having their work displayed, but their peers can learn from their ideas and strategies. My students will be conquering 2-step word problems, graphs, tables, computation and the world of geometry!

This document camera would improve my classroom and the lives of my students by saving tons of time.

This time will allow my students to master content above their grade level. My students will be one step closer to closing the achievement gap in Washington, DC!
