This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Math is a struggle for my students. Trying to visualize the different concepts and internalize the processes is very difficult for them.

My students are minority students, English language learners and 98% qualify for free or reduced lunch.

From these statistics you would think that I have a difficult class to teach yet my students are an amazing group of kids. They come to school so excited about learning and ready to succeed.

My Project

I am requesting a variety of math computer and board games. I currently have reading computer games and my students love them. The game format takes the content and makes it interesting to students. They can play each other on our Smartboard and it is a fun and interactive way for them to connect to the content. I would love to add to my collection by having the math computer games. In addition, I am requesting a variety of math board games. I need to have meaningful activities for my students to do while I am teaching small group math. By having math board games that cover a variety of concepts I can customize what students are working on while they are not with me.

Math will be more exciting for students with these math games.

The students will be learning while they are having fun! Thank you so much for helping my student's succeed in math.
