Making Math Fun!

Help me give my students two Boogie Boards, which are LCD writing tablets that make solving math problems more fun and engaging, and magnetic array manipulatives to give students a hands on approach to learning multiplication.

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Our classroom is filled with the most amazing students I have ever known! They truly love learning and are so excited to learn new things every day! Our school is a Title I school located in a high-poverty area but our expectations are high and we do everything we can to overcome obstacles that stand in our way.

I believe that ALL children can learn.

It is my responsibility to cater to their learning styles and individual needs so each and every one can be successful. I try to provide innovative and fun, engaging learning experiences daily.

My Project

My students will use the Writing Tablets to work out, solve, and use math strategies that we learn to solve a variety of math problems. We will use the Magnetic Array set during whole group instruction so that students will get a conceptual understanding of basic multiplication skills that will build the foundation for future mathematical learning and understanding. The magnetic array boards will give students the opportunity to create arrays by actually creating them through a hands-on, active learning approach.

These materials will make math a fun and engaging experience which will build conceptual understanding for all of my precious students!
