Hello potential donors! Thank you for taking the time to read my proposal for Making Math Fun and approachable!
My second grade special education students are a fun loving, curious bunch of individuals with a thirst for knowledge.
Each one of them brings their own unique skill set to the table as well as a positive can-do attitude. My students attend an extended day charter school in a high needs neighborhood.
My Project
Each student learns in different ways, long gone are the days of writing and solving math equations on the chalkboard. By targeting different learning styles at once, each student is getting a more well rounded math education that helps meet their own individual needs.
By incorporating games and a more hands-on, tactile approach to math, we are able to get the students more involved and make math fun.
Each grade experiences it's own challenges for teaching.
Younger students require much more to keep their attention, therefore it is crucial, especially in regards to special education, to keep learning as approachable, hands-on and as FUN as possible.
