Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
This project will support my current 2nd grade class and future classes to gain an understanding and love for math! Going beyond worksheets, lectures, and the computer students have a chance to physically touch the concepts we are learning together. My students will have those important hands-on opportunities to explore math in various ways and methods. These supplies will be used to make concepts such as fractions, time, and place value more tangible for all students. LEGO bricks make learning and working with fractions fun! Magna-Tiles are a student favorite for working with shapes and geometry concepts. Supplies like wipe-off boards can have endless reusable uses, from solving equations to practicing facts. We can keep our minds and hands moving while having fun with math!
