Making Math Fun Again!

Help me give my students a mathematical experience of a lifetime that will change how they feel about math.

My Students

My students are eager and fun loving learners- especially in our Math classes! They are always very excited to use technology to build their math problem solving skills or to try a new way of learning (even if that new way of learning is dancing to a song about place value) or learning how to code, or build models.

My school has a large number of students who live in poverty and are on free and reduced lunch.

My school is a place where students often feel more safe than anywhere else in their lives. They receive two meals a day, heat, and electricity. Most importantly, my students are surrounded by caring teachers that believe in their abilities. It is very important to me that my students have the same opportunities as their peers.

My Project

My students have struggled with math in the past and I am on a journey to making math fun and engaging this school year.

The Jenga game and dominoes requested will be used in my mathematics classroom this school year.

I would like to incorporate math games and activities this school year using every games and manipulative.

I have used manipulative since my early days in the classroom. They provide a concrete representation that can initially open the door to developing understanding for a challenging topic being studied.

I want to take my students on a mathematical journey please help me take them on a journey.
