Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are from a diverse and high poverty population. They are hardworking and enthusiastic about learning. Every day, they come to school despite hardships and engage in rigorous instruction. Our students take pride in our school. We are their extended family, and they count on us to educate and guide them every day. We have a large group of immigrant students. They are in our classrooms with little or no English skills. Despite their struggles, we perform at a high level.
My Project
I am requesting materials to help boost student learning for this new school year. Our students, families, and teachers are in need of how ideas to help guide students to learn their math facts.
Learning math facts is the building blocks for higher-level math concepts.
This project will assist students in learning their math facts no matter what grade they are in. I would like to provide a professional reference book for teachers to use as part of a book study. The book study will help teachers dig deep into learning to foster and guide our students in learning their math facts. It will also give teachers the tools they need to help implement fun activities for their students during their math block.
Finally, engaging families in helping their child with take-home activities they can do as part of their learning. I would love the learning to continue at home and give families some ideas of how they can help their child in a fun way.
Thank you for your time and consideration and I'm hoping to get this project funded to support our students, teachers, and families. Thank you!
