Making Math Count

My students need manipulative like hands-on counting center, magnetic counting and numbers, strawberries in a basket counting, problem solving centers, and jumbo dice.

My Students

Put on your running shoes! My students are highly energetic and learn better with hands-on materials. I work with special educational needs students, so keeping their attention on one task can be difficult. Several hands-on activities will better help keep their attention on learning.

My students are caring, energetic, and thrilled to learn.

My students don't come from a lot so having a safe, fun learning environment is essential for my students' learning. Due to the small budget, finding materials suitable for learning can be difficult. My students deserve more and need more stimulating materials to enhance their learning and their will to learn.

My Project

The students will use the materials in a variety of ways. The jumbo dice, strawberries in a basket, and number puzzles will be used for number identification, number work, and matching a specific number to the small amount of objects. The math counting centers and monkey balance will be used as small group games and activities to further their knowledge. Patterning and sorting are also two important kindergarten concepts to master, so these materials will be used often with my small groups who are struggling.

Donations to this project will improve my classroom by providing more interactive materials for my kinesthetic learners.

It will also change my students' lives for the better because they will be able to discover new material and new ways of learning.
