I work with more than 60 students in grades Kindergarten through Fifth. We are in a small-but-growing, rural, Title 1 school. All of my students are ambitious, thoughtful, and caring. They want to learn new ways to be creative and want to be successful at school every day. They are on their way to being independent, productive citizens.
One of the activities my students love best is to use technology in new and creative ways.
We are fortunate to have daily access to classroom chromebooks and a few iPads. Now we need the accessories to help foster our technological creativity.
My Project
Using technology is an almost daily activity in my classroom. My students would like to venture into another area - green screen. We have the technology but need the green screen to create amazing photos and videos.
With these green screen items, my students will be able to create amazing photos and videos in a variety of ways.
The green gloves will allow students to draw and hold their own characters in the screen area. The Play Doh will allow students to make videos with unusual shapes, often called wormholes. Using the green screen items and technology will help my students to connect with stories and their own writing, and it will help to increase their reading fluency. My students will love creating videos of their plays, poems, and other writing pieces.
