This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My third grade students are creative, clever, and inquisitive and are eager to know everything, even during distance learning. Their curiosities range from wanting to know more about the history of the San Francisco Earthquake, to animal adaptations, to asking questions about artists’ lives. Their drive is amazing and it inspires me to meet the challenge to answer their numerous questions through books, but now through technology. I teach in a low socioeconomic area and my students are primarily English Language Learners in which Spanish is the primary language in the home and resources are limited.
My Project
The Apple MacBook Air Laptop will enable my students to receive clear and continual instruction during distance learning. The Apple MacBook Air will provide me with an opportunity to create engaging and meaningful lessons, and it will help me better interact with my students during Zoom class. It will also enable me to create Google Slides, Docs, Powerpoints, and assessments, as well as give my students instant feedback on their submissions.
The Apple MacBook Air will also enable my students to interact with the various online learning platforms such as, ST Math, Brain Pop, and Nearpod.
We will use iMovie and Garage Band so students can utilize their creativity and talents to demonstrate their understanding of the content. The Apple MacBook Air will continue to be a purposeful tool that my students will utilize once we return to the classroom.
