My Students
I work at a Title I school that has students from various socioeconomic backgrounds. 100% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch daily due to the majority of students who need free breakfast and lunch.
I love my students because they try their hardest, no matter what is happening outside of school in their world.
My students love to read, write, and really love a good science project. Their imaginations are vivid and it is so refreshing to be in a classroom with them.
My Project
These materials will help my students with the hands-on literacy learning they so badly need this upcoming school year. These items will be used for small group instruction, as well as literacy centers that will be around the classroom. This year I am looking forward to having literacy centers again where the children can engage and learn with each other.
Last year was hard on everyone, but I think it was especially hard on our littlest learners.
This year I want to implement fun, engaging, and rigorous centers that the students can actually play and learn in together. The BOB books will help will small group instruction as my students are becoming readers. The sight word games are great for interactive and fun ways for a literacy group to learn sight words. The Vowel Owls are a great, hands-on way to learn vowel sounds. The magnetic letters is also a very tactile way for students to learn and build words with the letters. The Gamenote CVC builders, Key Education sentence building, Learning Resources snap and learn rhyming pups, and CVC matching game are all really great ways for students to be engaged and have fun while learning the phonemic awareness and phonics they need to become strong readers.
