This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My class consists of 21 pre-kindergarten students. My school is a Title 1 school with 77.2% of students coming from socioeconomically disadvantaged backgrounds. My class is an inclusion class that consists of general education and special education students. Therefore, because I am teaching very young children with different abilities and levels it is essential to differentiate my instruction and make it engaging.
A book is a gift you can open again and again.
When you can make reading a book more engaging with felt storyboards and finger puppets it makes the story come alive and more engaging for my young readers. This is why I am requesting a felt storytelling magnetic board, The Little Red Riding Hood, and other classic story felt figures to make my story time more interactive and meaningful for my students.
This project will impact my students’ language and literacy development in so many ways. Therefore, I am excited to see this project come life in my classroom.
